Candle Care & Tips

Safe Burning: Burn within sight. Keep away from flammable objects. Keep away from children and pets. Keep candle free of any foreign materials including matches and wick trimmings. Only burn the candle on a level, fire-resistant surface. Do not burn candles any more than 4 hours at a time. Stop use when only 1/4 wax remains. Natural frosting may occur due to the natural soy wax, which is normal.

Cotton Wick: Trim wick 1/4 before lighting. Make sure the wax melts all the way to the edges of the jar before extinguishing. This will keep the candle from tunneling. If mushrooming happens, trim off the mushroom part of the wick before you relight, This will help with soot.

Wooden Wick: Doesn't need trimming at first. Make sure the wax melts all the way to the edges of the jar before extinguishing. This will keep the candle from tunneling! This can take anywhere from 30 minutes to and hour. It depends on the candle.

Tunneling tips for Wood Wicks: If the wick does need trimming (trust me it will after a little bit), tweezers are your best friend! If the flame is too low, take tweezers and trim off some of the burnt wick. This will allow the flame to get higher. Another tip for a low flame, get some of the melted wax out! Take a paper towel to absorb some of the wax that has pooled around the wick. Be cautious! All of these tips can prevent tunneling. If the candle happens to tunnel, take aluminum foil to create a tunnel around the rim of the candle to get heat to the end of the wax.
